Entrepreneurs don’t get sick — do they?!

— No, never.

— We simply don’t because we are super-humans determined to bring our vision to life.

Entrepreneur — The Super-human

Obviously, as Entrepreneurs we have uncovered the secret of living a life without the struggles of ever getting sick.

This secret is only shared amongst ourselves because we cannot have everyone to be living a healthy life.

The big health, insurance and pharmacy companies would go out of business, can you image…

We definitely do not want to carry the responsibility of helping fellow humans to live a healthy life without ever having to go to the doctor or popping some yellow, blow, green pills to help ease a cold.

— Do we?

— No, we don’t. That’s why no-one ever talks about it.

Until now; I will make an exception and share our well kept secret with you

The Secret to never getting sick

The secret to never getting sick is — Your level of endurance and resilience simply changes.

As a new-born Entrepreneur most likely you will be working longer hours, find less time for hobbies/ sports, sleep less and might not find the time or motivation to follow the healthiest diet. By default you would be more likely to catch a cold.

I am not saying that this is always the case, let’s just go with the average new-born entrepreneur and a body that has to cope with being worked harder than before.

There are obviously also plenty op people out there who are just crazy about cooking and sports. Speaking from experience, these habits will not fade because of the new path that you are on.

For me living in the U.S. actually amplified my cooking simply because of me having trust issues when it comes to American processed food.

For sure, occasionally I also slips into ordering food, but generally sticks to a healthy home cooked meal plan.

The same holds for sport. Actually I have added more to my routine ever since I started on this path. Mainly because is doesn’t only keep the body in shape but also our mind sharp.

So… Do we get sick?

— YES, we do.

— Well, let me rephrase…

Within 1 year I have been under the weather a few times but I would not call it being sick as in I need to take sick days or days off.

Former 9–5 employee me probably would have called in sick for 3 days to a week.

— Why?

Simply because I were unwell and my threshold was lower than now and my perception of when there is a need to call in sick and when not was based on the fluffy and warm lap of the German Social Security and Health System.

In all honesty, I was spoiled growing up working in a 9–5 in Germany.

Looking back after 1 year of working and living in NYC — you are thinking twice about if you can afford being sick or not.

Not only because of the loss of income not working a few days but also the costs of how the health care system works in the U.S.

To sum it up

In a way I think we all are super-humans when it come to the very core of our existence and to bring life to our vision.

You, we all are way stronger then we think or acknowledge to be. However, in oder to keep being your most strongest self — please don’t forget to also listen to your body. It will most definetly tell you what it needs and when it needs it. Thus, there will be times where the only thing that you can do is rest.
